Cortex is getting a facelift, and we're going to show you around our new look. The two major areas being redesigned are the Cortex campaign set up screens, and our segment builder. More screens will be getting their facelift later in the year (and we can't wait to show it to you).
So where is everything now?
First thing you will notice, is we have updated our left menu, which has improved the way we categorize certain pages, and has made things easier to find.
When clicking on "Campaign", instead of seeing this screen, which used to be "Cortex Admin":
You will now see this:
All your stages are the same, and each stage has two numbers: count of active emails, and count of inactive emails. Remember: Cortex works best by having the max number of stages enabled + multiple templates so our optimizers can learn and select the best content to send to your users.
By clicking on the new stage categories above the stages, such as "welcome" or "winback", you can filter the stages relevant for that topic:
You can additionally click on "The Playbook" button, and choose specific playbooks based on your marketing goals. More info on playbooks is available by clicking on the "What is The Playbook?" link.
Clicking "manage emails" will take you to the email management page. For context, this is what the old page looked like (don't mind our funny test template names):
And now, it looks like this:
Some new functionality on this page: you can now change the stage without going back out to the admin screen with the stage selector dropdown on the top left. You can also filter for specific email statuses, such as active, inactive, and scheduled, completed, and canceled. You can also search by email name with the search bar.
To the right of each email are some available options in the dropdown:
Clicking on "preview" will pop up a modal which shows you a preview of your email, along with the settings that you have applied.
Closing the modal will take you back to the main email screen. Looking up at the upper right corner, click "New Email"", and you will be presented with two options:
Choosing "Create new" will take you to the new email campaign setup. For context, the old screen looked like this:
The screens are now split so you can go step by step through the settings.
And now, the last step allows you to select how you want to design the template. There are four options, which you should all be familiar with already: HTML Editor, Drag and Drop, Starter Templates (you can access your pre-built templates here), and Clone Layout (allows you to clone the layout of any existing email, without the settings).
We'll choose Clone Layout:
You can filter by stage, status, or search for emails, and also preview the email on screen. Selecting a row and clicking next will take you to the builder:
When you're done, hit continue, and you will be taken to a final preview page which will show you your email, and all the settings applied to it. You will have the opportunity here to save your email and go back to the email list, or to save the email and send a test email.
This is the majority of the changes, with a few other little tweaks and additions you can discover for yourselves.
There are more changes coming soon! So look out for future announcements.
